Why do you always leave the lowest button of the jacket unfastenend?
An important rule for the groom and, of course, all the others, is to leave the lowest button of the suit and the waistcoat unfastened.
Our rules of thumb
- A single-breasted, 1 button jacket is either worn comoletely fastened or completely unfastened
- A single-breasted, 2 button jacket is worn with the upper button fastenend and the lower one always unfastened - a perfect wedding suit
- A single-breasted 3 button jacket is worn with the button in the middle fastened, the lower button always remains unfastened. As far as the upper button is concerned it's up to you to decide to leave it unfastenend or fastened
- Do you wear a double-breasted suit? The lower button always remain unfastened, the other buttons are always fastened
- A festive waistcoat is always worn with all buttons fastened - however, the lower button always remains unfastened
- There are always exceptions to the rules: for stand-up collar jackets and royal jackets (e.g. from our TZIACCO collection) the above-mentioned rules might not apply due to the large number of buttons of the jackets
